What
Friendly 1-day indoor volleyball tournament organized by DCPVL
2 divisions of play:
Avalanche Division
All teams should consist of 2 players from each division (D1-D2-D3-D4), or equivalent
If unable, may have a player from a lower division (e.g. 1 x D1 and 3 x D2)
At least one player from each division must be on the court at all times
10-team cap
Blizzard Division
All teams should consist of 4 players from each division (D5-D6), or equivalent
If unable, may have a player from a lower division (e.g. 3 x D5 and 5 x D6)
At least two players from each division must be on the court at all times
6-team cap
Divisions caps may be adjusted closer to the tournament, depending on registration
Pool Play followed by single elimination Playoffs (best 2 out of 3 sets)
Who
Anyone can participate, even new players to DCPVL
Must have a TeamArrange account.

Must be at least 18 years old on the day of the tournament
Registration & Matchmaker
Captains must register and pay the full team fee through TeamArrange
Captains must then add players to their roster
Players can indicate their interest in participating using TeamArrange’s Player Connector

Pool Play
Schedule will be posted closer to the tournament, in the TeamArrange session
Matches start at 9am. Gym opens at 8am for check-in.
Pool play consists of 4 matches
Each match is 2 sets to 25, win by 2 with a cap at 27, no ties
Matches are capped at 40 minutes (5 min. warm-up and 35 min. play)
Playoffs
Single elimination bracket, where matches are best 2 of 3 sets
First 2 sets are to 25, win by 2 with a cap at 27. Deciding 3rd set (if needed) is to 15, win by 2, no cap.
Matches have a 5 min. warm-up and no time limit to complete the match
Playoffs begin immediately after pool play, and estimated to end around 5pm
FAQs
Are jerseys required?
No, there's no requirement to have matching jerseys with numbers.
Can we use a libero?
Yes. If your libero's shirt is not clearly contrasting, simply notify the up-ref before the match starts.
Can I have a team of 6 or 7 players?
No, for this tournament, teams must have 8 players.
